What is a Content Delivery Network?

Essentially, a CDN is a geographically distributed group of servers, which work together to store cache versions of internet content, providing fast delivery to users locally. How does it work?

A CDN employs a global network of edge locations and local edge caches to store copies of your website content close to your users. This short distance travelled for user requests enhances your website’s performance and user experience.

This network of content delivery maintains persistent connections with your origin servers for files not cached at the edge locations and the regional edge caches so that such files can be downloaded from the origin servers as swiftly as possible.
